A bengal kitten from 3 weeks to 4-5 months will look like a little leopard with a camouflage fur, called "fuzzy".
This temporary fur is inherited from the Asian Leopard Cat (their ancestor); the bengal kitten, like the little ALC (or even little cheetahs) are covered by a greyish fur that hides partially the quality of their coats. The degree and perstistence of fuzzies are different for each kitten, depending on various factors as generations from the ALC ancestor and others polygens existing in his line.
This fuzzy fur helps protecting the kittens from predators, improving their survival in the wild.
During this phase, the kitten will be less appealing that he will be once adult. To have an idea of how he will develop, it is interesting to ask for pictures from the first weeks and pictures from the parents.
Final coat colour and fur texture will be reached by the age of 12 months.
